The term Headhunter describes a company or individual that provides employment recruiting services on behalf of the employer. Firms hire headhunters to find talent and to locate individuals who meet specific job requirements.

Recruiting dates back to the time of the Roman Army.

Korn Ferry International, founded in 1969, is considered the largest executive search firm in the world.

In the United States, the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC), represents search firms who work on exclusive and retained basis.

The German equivalent to the AESC is the Bund Deutscher Unternehmensberater (BDU).

Almost 150,000 people in the United Kingdom work in recruitment.

According to LinkedIn ©, 78% of recruiters are happy with their job.
